Hi! I'm Maddie Michael!

I’m an artist, photographer, creator + art teacher.

I was born and raised in Salt Lake City, Utah. I have been creating and making art since I can remember, filling up sketch pads, painting, making homemade gifts and always sewing something. Growing up I was surrounded by artists and creators, my grandma and mom were always making, creating, and experimenting with a verity of mediums. They were always so encouraging and trusting, allowing me to take on new projects with never any doubt that I could do it, no matter how big or small the project was.

Art continued to be a huge part of my life, throughout my childhood I took private art lessons and filled my school schedules with as much art as possible. After graduating high school, a year early, I began the Fashion Program in downtown Salt Lake City, Utah, along with taking fine art classes and psychology. I eventually started selling my art, sewn pieces, photography and more at art shows and local events across Utah, California and online.

My passion for art and creating has taken me down so many incredible paths and continues to do so. Today, I am teaching different mediums at local art studios and in private art lessons, creating commissioned pieces and murals for individual clients and interior designers, booking photo shoots, designing websites with companies and individuals, illustrating books, and more. When working with students, clients, and companies, I strive to provide a positive, fun, friendly and relaxing atmosphere for a successful and creative experience.

My art studio is tucked away in Utah’s beautiful Wasatch Mountains. It’s filled with art, photography, sewing machines and books. My German shepherd, Rhodes, is always by my side creating with me. I love to travel, surrounding myself in nature and beautiful places, photographing, drawing, and painting along the way.

I believe art is both powerful + empowering.
It’s a form of therapy; a stress reliever + that the-doing-of-art is healing.
